I'm not really good at this stuff, I tend to blab a lot. My mind never slows down. Ever. So, there's no telling what might be thrown on the screen. This is my warning...haha. :)
I figured a good starting point could be yesterday, January 1, 2010. The start of a new year. Funny...I've already missed a day. How predictable...
Yesterday was supposed to be a lazy day at my sweet boyfriend, Luke's, house with his family. OF COURSE nothing ever goes "my way" or as planned. Due to a rushed painting order and a forty-five minute trip to Brighton and back from campus, our day got started a little late. It was so great, however. Luke was given an Olive Garden gift card for Christmas from his aunt, so we decided to go ahead and take care of that. ;) It was delicious! It's exciting to eat when you're not the one having to pay for such a nice meal. ;)
Also, some family friends from Bellevue invited the Berry family and I over to relax, play games, and eat to celebrate the new year. There were four couples there with some of their children who were around the ages of 13 and younger. Luke and I had no choice but to chill with the adults, but it was so nice. The men and ladies were split up the entire night. I chatted with the wise women and played a vicious game of Phase 10 while Luke talked football and bible translations with the guys. It's nice being able to engage in conversation with mature men and women after God's own heart. The night ended with a movie in the den by a fire back at the Berry home...one of my most favorite ways in the entire world to relax--and sleep. ;) What a happy new year.
Here is a snapshot of Luke and I making a run to Walgreens for Mr. Sean's prescription and candy.
This year at Bellevue is "The Year of the Bible." Every time I say that it makes me laugh. I brought it up to a friend of mine today and she said, "Well duh! You're at church!! Isn't it always supposed to be about the Bible?" haha. Brother Steve Gaines is naming it that because of the simple fact that we will read through the entire Bible in a year-chronologically. Almost the entire church body purchased the chronological bible and the journal that corresponds to it. There are daily devotions that are to be done throughout the weeks, and on Sunday mornin' preachin', Bro. Steve will be teaching something in relation to the past week's scripture. Needless to say, I have never been so excited to read the bible. So, don't be surprised if one day you get on here, and my entire devotion is typed out. ;) Maybe it'll help you like it will me. I can't wait. :)
My church time ended with a nice lunch with just Luke and I at On the border. I hate On the Border, but he loves it. Relationships are about sacrifice. Right?
When I got home this afternoon, Dad was in a rush to get ready to leave for work. Howeverrrrrr...at this point we had not taken our Christmas pictures yet this year, and this was the only chance to get them done. After what was supposed to be 3 minutes for a few snapshots, Charlie and I got carried away with Mom's new remote for the camera and made our own goofy photo op..of course.
My New Year's weekend ended with one of my best friends, and roommate, Madison, coming over and chilling with me. Charlie has about 5 friends over, so I was outnumbered. She came over and we ate part of the junk food that's laying upstairs, and we started the "Pretty Little Liars" tv show on Hulu which has now become our new addiction. She'll be coming over later this week to finish and relax with me again. It's tough going from seeing her everyday and having her right there when I need or want her to not seeing her at all. I'm thankful for the Lord allowing me to have her as my roommate. We live the same lives in more ways than one, and it makes things much easier.
Well, I had a great New Year's weekend, and I hope you did, also. May your year be full of blessings and not happiness, but true joy. Remember to follow the Lord in all your ways, and help me follow him, too. I'm nervous and excited to see what the Lord has in store for me for 2011. I'm pretty sure whatever it is, it'll rock my world.
